So you want to know a little more about us? Great!

We started up as a small property firm, around 6 years ago.  As we started building our property portfolio and started to move toward development, we realised that there was a need for an interior design company in the Humber and Northern Lincolnshire areas.

While my husband continued managing the purchase and development of our portfolio, I started taking the interior design part of our development as my specialist role.  It was not till 2006, when we designed and built our own home, that I realised that this was something that I wanted to do on a full time basis, and something that I was very good at.....(the number of visitors, who fell in love with the interior of my home proved this!) 

I realised that I was never happier than when I was feeling fabrics and looking at wallpapers or walking around furniture stores.  This lead to me completing a diploma in interior design and drawing, and another diploma in curtains and soft furnishings at the National Design Academy.  I was then ready to create Butterfly Interiors.  More recently, I have been trained by Rebecca Day from Merrick and Day, in designing and making couture curtains and window dressing!

I have worked on numerous projects residential, commercial and show homes/apartments.  Over the last couple of years, I have managed to build a team that aids me in the curtains and soft furnishings side of the business, while I concentrate on getting the design perfected to the clients specification.

I have found that having the development experience has made me look at interiors differently, for example, with very simple joinery, you can create a stimulating feature wall, as shown in the photos section.  Also, it allows me to help clients, during planning stages of both new builds and extensions, on the both the use and visual look that they are aspiring to.
